Chris Worrell isn’t just representing his community — he is his community. As State Representative, he’s taking the values of Dorchester and Roxbury straight to Beacon Hill.
Christopher Worrell was born and raised in Dorchester, the son of Jamaican and Barbadian immigrants who instilled in him a deep sense of family, faith, and community advocacy. Long before he held elected office, he was already building the relationships that define his work today.
From the airwaves of SparkFM 101.3 to equity and diversity work at the Boston Planning & Development Agency to years of grassroots organizing across Dorchester and Roxbury, Chris was showing up for the families that his work in office is now built to serve.
Today, as State Representative for the 5th Suffolk District, he brings that same groundedness to Beacon Hill — serving as Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security, a member of the House Committee on Steering, Policy and Scheduling, and a 2024 delegate to the Democratic National Convention.
Boston Globe-endorsed and nationally recognized as a Future Caucus Innovation Fellow on Criminal Justice Reform, Chris is building a record that points clearly to what comes next — and he’s doing it for the neighborhood that made him.
Chris and his wife Suzette are raising their three children — Carter, Savannah, and Simone — in Dorchester’s Grove Hall section. Together with his brother, Boston City Councilor Brian Worrell, he operates a joint constituent office on Erie Street, because he believes that being accessible isn’t a promise — it’s a practice.
